If you follow any celebrities on Instagram, you’re probably familiar with the Instagram feature Story Question Stickers. The feature allows an Instagram user to survey their audience by posting a sticker to their Instagram Story that poses a question. Followers then submit answers, which can be shared over an image of the user’s choice. While this feature is commonly used for celebrities to interact with their fans, it can also be effectively used for recruitment.

Host a Q&A
A great way to utilize the Questions feature is to host an Ask a Recruiter Q&A session. Promote the session on your Instagram stories a few days ahead of time as a chance for candidates to ask any questions they have about working at your company, or about the recruitment process as a whole. When answering their questions, use background images that show off your office or your company culture.
Ask Employees to Chime In
Your employees are an easily accessible resource for sharing your company experience. Post a question for your employees on your Instagram Story, and then display their answers for your followers to see. This supplies candidates with genuine experiences from real employees and has the added benefit of boosting employee engagement. You can share employee portraits along with their answers (while keeping their personal Instagram profiles anonymous) so that candidates can view their potential future co-workers. Or, post an image that is relevant to the employee’s answer (for example, if an employee raves about the company cafeteria, share a photo of the food bar in the background of their answer).
Receive Candidate Feedback
Use Instagram Question Stickers as a research tool. Ask candidates to submit answers about what they care about. This will give you more insight into your candidates, and make your candidates feel valued. Here are some sample questions to ask your candidates:
- What kind of company culture are you looking for?
- Why do you want to work for us?
- What questions do you have about our interview process?
- What do you want to know about life at our company?
You can post these responses and share how your company fits them. Or, you can hold on to these responses and review them internally. This will give you an inner look at your candidates’ thoughts on the recruitment process, and help you to better communicate with them in the future.
