H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary working towards its mission: to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer. Moffitt Cancer Center is home to over 3,000 employees including University of South Florida research staff and faculty.
Challenge
Moffitt Cancer Center wanted to enhance their current Employee Referral Program so they could better compete in the local marketplace. The ERP in place did not generate the number of hires they needed because of lack of awareness and promotion of the program.
Solution
CKR Interactive's Account Management and Creative teams worked together to develop a highly attractive "Make-A-Getaway" ERP theme that focused on increasing the awareness of the program amongst all employees both at work and at home. The program launched with a postcard mailed directly to the homes of all employees inviting them to attend a Key West themed kick-off event. The event created significant “buzz” and introduced the awards, including a trip for two to Key West.
CKR Interactive joined the HR Team at Moffitt Cancer Center beginning at 4 A.M. to kick-off the event to the night shift. We turned the hospital cafeteria into little Key West complete with island music, virgin margaritas and tiki huts. The "Make-a-Getaway" theme continued through various methods such as luggage tags, banners and posters around the hospital, referral cards, and semi-annual award events.
Results
In the first three months alone, Moffitt had 48 hires as a result of employee referrals. A follow up postcard and the incentive for the grand prize trip will contribute to more hires in the future. The grand prize winner will be announced at another island themed party at the end of the year.
