CKR Interactive Expands its Reach With New Staff Additions.

CAMPBELL, CA – International recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive welcomes Emerging Media Account Strategist Christine Guardia and Senior Account Executive Celine North to the agency’s growing team. They will each play an active role in helping the agency meet a growing demand for social media and account strategy services throughout the United States.

Guardia’s notable achievements include helping launch KooDooZ, a social network designed to empower youth, and working on Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign, which leveraged social media to recruit thousands of people to hold local reading events around the world. Working with clients such as the Library of Congress, City of New York and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Guardia honed her relationship management, communications and analytical skills as their information technology consultant. She recently worked with Los Angeles County to implement their talent management system, and her recruitment advertising experience dates back to when she worked for CKR Interactive CEO Curtis Rogers’ first recruitment ad agency, Rogers & Associates. She earned her MBA in Marketing and Public & Nonprofit Management at Boston University, and holds degrees in Public Relations and Public Administration from Syracuse University.

Guardia’s role at CKR Interactive is to help clients apply the latest social channels and technologies to recruitment, as well as track and analyze campaign effectiveness. Increased demand for the agency’s comprehensive suite of social media products and services led to the need to expand staff in this area, and Guardia will support Kasey Sixt, vice president of branding and social media, to deliver social media expertise. As Sixt notes, “Christine and I worked together previously, and I’m looking forward to the fresh and innovative ideas that I know she’ll bring to our growing office in Los Angeles.”

Guardia concurs, “The social web is constantly evolving, and it’s difficult for clients to determine which of the tools and platforms out there will yield the best outcomes. I look forward to filling that gap and assisting clients in differentiating between what will help them recruit and retain the best employees versus what is hype.”

North has worked in the marketing and advertising industry for more than 15 years, specializing in the recruitment niche for nearly a decade. She was responsible for significant business growth at a number of recruitment marketing agencies, including JWT, where she served as a managing director, as well as TMP and Hodes, where she served as a director of business development. North honed her relationship management, communications and marketing skills working as a recruitment and retention consultant, advising clients such as Baptist Health, University of Florida and Shands Hospital, Napa Auto Parts, MGM, Hilton Grand Vacation Club, and many others.  She also worked to build the media start-up, GiftAloft, where she was recognized as an award-winning entrepreneur.

East Coast Regional Manager Nancy Caputo shared, “I am excited to have Celine, with her extensive experience and background, join the team to expand CKR Interactive’s presence in Florida.”

As Senior Account Executive, North will manage the day-to-day needs and strategy development for a broad range of agency clients. Upon joining the team, she remarked, “I have admired CKR Interactive for years, and I am thrilled to be part of a group I have respected for so long. Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to delivering the best service possible – it’s an ideal fit for the agency’s personalized service model on which its industry reputation was built.”

CKR Interactive Named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private U.S. Companies

CAMPBELL, CA — National recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive has been named to the 2011 Inc. 500/5000 list of fastest-growing private U.S. companies. This is the third year in a row that the agency has been recognized by Inc. Magazine for its continued growth. Ranking #399 within the Advertising & Marketing category, CKR Interactive is acknowledged for its 13 percent increase in revenues between 2007 and 2010. Last year, the firm opened a New York City office, located on Seventh Avenue, as well as a Cleveland metropolitan area office.

"CKR Interactive's continued growth is a reflection of the people who work here, the tremendous opportunity within our market and the outstanding clients who partner with us for effective marketing strategies and solutions," states President & CEO Curtis Rogers.

In addition to growing CKR Interactive into one of the largest recruitment advertising agencies in the country with the ability to deliver integrated, global solutions via its OneAgent joint venture, Rogers is launching Peer Group US.

Affiliated with Peer Group Communications in the United Kingdom, Peer Group US is a dedicated Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and employer brand consultancy for both global and national organizations. Leveraging advanced research techniques and methodologies, Peer Group US will aid organizations in effectively communicating with their workforces throughout the entire employment experience.

The Inc. 500/5000 list also provides a glimpse into overall business growth conditions throughout the country. Similar to findings from the 2010 list, the top states for job creation include California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. These states benefit from a mix of continued population increases, large metropolitan areas and top public and private research universities – conditions that create fertile ground for business growth.

California, home to CKR Interactive's Silicon Valley headquarters, is again the location of the most significant job growth among companies that made this year's list. Approximately 51,300 jobs were created during the past year by California-based companies, evidence that the state is still a major source of American innovation and expansion.

CKR Interactive's Director of Branding Speaks at IPMA – HR

CAMPBELL, CA — Kasey Sixt Presents at the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.

As a recruitment advertising agency, global recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive thrives on all employment based information. They are individuals who jump at the chance to help others and love to share their knowledge. On April 27th, CKR Interactive's very own VP of Branding, Kasey Sixt, had the opportunity to do both and share her expertise about diversity in recruitment in a presentation given at the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.

Kasey Sixt demonstrated that, as more and more unemployed prospects search for jobs, studies have proven that diversity recruitment strategies need to be at an all-time high to ensure the best talent is considering your company. Sixt delivered a great presentation that explored this topic through a fun and interactive game show-like experience, which addressed several important points including knowing your audience, assessing your market, and launching programs and initiatives to drive the best-qualified candidates to your company.

Many professionals were in attendance including Doug Detling, Human Resources Director in Oregon. He, like many others, was impressed by Sixt's presentation. "As a proponent of more focused diversity recruiting in our agency, I was intrigued by Kasey's insightful presentation in the changing composition of the workforce. It unmistakable that private employers need to hire more inclusively because there is a business case for doing so, but public agencies need to do this to better understand and deliver service to the public. The more we understand, the better we can serve. Kasey's presentation was grounded in solid data and with specific tips."

If you happened to have missed Kasey Sixt's presentation, no need to worry; CKR Interactive will be speaking at many other conferences this year. Their next presentation is June 1-3 at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) in Dallas. Topics include, Social Media and Diversity catered to the college audience. From print to internet, job boards to social networking, campaigns to branding, production to development. I no longer consider us an advertising agency but a consultancy where knowledge rules. Nevertheless, what is most important over these last 10 years is that I'm having the time of my life and feel so very fortunate to be able to work with some wonderful people, both employees and clients. I think Fred and Barney can say it best:

CKR Interactive's EVP Gives Back to Keep Arts Alive in Local Community

CAMPBELL, CA — Recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive's Craig Freitag shares his creative design expertise with local classroom.

As schools across California face severe budget cuts, fine arts programs are being cut one by one. In fact, many local schools are no longer able to provide formal art classes for its students. In response to the diminishing art programs, recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive's EVP of Creative Services, Craig Freitag, decided to help out by volunteering to teach young students about the arts on a weekly basis.

Freitag was concerned about the void left by cutting art programs and not providing a multidimensional education for students. "Fine arts are vulnerable to budget cuts partly because children are not tested in music or art under the No Child Left Behind act," he said. "It's alarming how our children are losing out.  It's such a powerful form of self expression that we simply can't leave it unexplored."

Although there is a strong support for arts within the local community, there is simply not enough school funding to maintain art programs, forcing officials to find a way to offer fine arts with limited resources. Freitag, along with other parents that hold art degrees, are volunteering to teach the basics of visual arts, from exploration of different mediums to the appreciation of art history and work.

Despite not having taught before, Freitag was not intimidated from volunteering to give back. "It's not about displaying the fine arts of teaching, but simply teaching the fine arts" Freitag explained.  "I truly believe the future success of these students will be enhanced if they learn to unlock their creativity."

Freitag's contributions are another example of CKR Interactive's belief that giving back to the community is essential for a successful business. The agency often participates in charitable activities, from promoting employees to participate in fundraisers and at local nonprofit events, to providing recruitment advertising and marketing services to nonprofits at discounted rates. The agency's CEO, Curtis Rogers, volunteers much of his time as a councilperson for the city of Monte Sereno. "We've been really fortunate to have such great success as an agency and believe that it is important to give back to the community that has supported us through the years. I also encourage our employees to share their talent and time with the community, to not only give back but to enrich their own lives." Rogers states.

CKR Interactive Plays Cupid This Valentine's Day

CAMPBELL, CA — CKR Interactive's five reasons why employee recruitment is similar to dating.

Valentine’s Day. A day filled with roses, chocolates and of course — love. Finding the right connection can be a long, frustrating road, not just for singles looking for “the one” but for employers seeking the perfect fit for their job opportunities. Fortunately, recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive can help these employers play cupid and target the top talent they need. Similar to dating sites like Match.com and eHarmony, CKR Interactive is in the business of match-making, just from a different angle — bringing the best employers and talent together.

In order to work, a successful work match, like love, must offer compatibility. So finding the right fit is very important.

Skye Callan, CKR Interactive’s Marketing Director shares, “Finding the right person for the job is not as easy as one might think. It is like finding love; you need to get to know where to look to find candidates with the right personalities and skill sets that match your hiring needs. Both parties need to be happy, understanding and put themselves out on the line.”

CKR Interactive has been providing recruitment advertising and marketing solutions to clients around the world for nearly a decade. During this time, they’ve put together this comprehensive list of the top five reasons why recruitment and hiring is similar to dating:

      • The Profile — When researching prospective dates or employees, you want to see a well branded online profile. An appealing biography will get you far in both worlds. Profiles provide an excellent resource to both daters and job seekers to show why they are the right fit.
      • The Interest — When someone sparks your interest, you contact them to see if they reciprocate the feeling for you, or in the prospective employee’s case, your company.
      • The Call — If both parties are interested, a phone conversation gages the next step. If everything goes well, you arrange a “date.” Phone etiquette is important for both the dater and the job seeker. Missing a call, asking if they can call you back or putting you on hold several times throughout the call aren’t going to win them any points.
      • The Date — This will be the first time you meet one another in person. This acts as the initial interview to get to know each other more thoroughly. You may need a couple more “dates” to really get to know the person to ensure you make the right choice. Many people date around; employers have multiple interviews to narrow down the choices (and job seekers may line up multiple interviews, although it would benefit both the employer and job seeker to not brag about the other prospects). Both employers and daters may spend tons of money and time in attempts to attract the right match — fortunately employers can utilize recruitment marketing agencies to help them measure where they’ll get the best ROI.
      • The Marriage — Finally, you find the person you like. Soon, that relationship blossoms into “love” and a union is formed, or shall we say the contract is signed. Your new employee will hopefully be a great resource for future referrals and hires… but we don’t recommend daters to attempt to emulate this.

Finding the perfect match may be difficult at times, but it doesn’t have to be impossible. There are plenty of fish in the sea, so get online and put your company out there.

CKR Interactive Leverages Shifts in the Recruitment Landscape

CAMPBELL, CA — In tumultuous times such as these, recruitment trends are constantly changing. The following details emerging trends and challenges global recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive noted throughout 2010 that will play a large role in the 2011 recruitment realm. The ever-changing landscape can set the stage for new opportunities for those who take advantage.

Social media has become commonplace, if not a necessity, for productive recruitment. All workforce segments can now be found using social media and it’s clear that social media recruitment efforts should not be limited to Millennials, with all generations well represented. Additionally, social media has created a demand for personalized experiences. The job seeker is now more curious and the job platform is more interactive; the job seeker wants to know what’s in it for them. Leverage social media to build networks and talent pools instead of using it primarily as a source to generate applicants and responses to current job openings.

Mobile marketing has also come a long way from text messages. Market research firm Nielsen forecasts that smartphones — which were used by 21 percent of all wireless subscribers at the end of 2009 — will outnumber feature phones in the U.S. market by the end of 2011 and represent approximately half of all wireless subscribers. In another study by comScore Mobilens, adults 25 to 34 have the highest rates of smartphone penetration, followed by adults 35 to 44. Encourage mobile device users to connect quickly and easily by using mobile landing pages, talent network forms, barcodes and mobile-friendly career sites/microsites.

Economic challenges and layoffs have influenced low morale and an increased level of job dissatisfaction in employees. They are ready for a change. Employers should make sure to place emphasis on their retention efforts to keep top talent. Those looking to attract these experienced candidates should aim to engage these candidates and convert them to applicants through a more personalized recruitment experience.

Focus should also be placed back on diversity recruitment. This is an area that has been set aside because of the economy, but recent research shows that this strategy could be detrimental to a company and their employees, in both recruiting and retaining top talent.

“2010 was a fascinating year in terms of growth in technology and how it can be used to enhance recruitment efforts,” shared Curtis Rogers, CKR Interactive’s President and CEO. “We’re very much looking forward to what 2011 has in store for us, and are ready to help our clients make the most of these emerging trends.”

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards is a leading awards program that exclusively recognizes the very best web sites of healthcare organizations (both large and small), online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers, and business improvement initiatives. The awards presented highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognize the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health website.

For the eHealthcare awards, judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization's classification. They also reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The best overall Internet site category, for example, had to pass muster on more than 40 factors.

CKR Interactive exceeded the rigorous evaluation and won the Gold eHealthcare Leadership award for "Best Employee Recruitment" for Banner Health's rural recruitment site.

Director of Healthcare at CKR Interactive, Amiksha Patel says, "Banner Health's rural campaign was created because Banner's Western Region which was having major difficulty filling hard-to-fill positions in all of their rural locations. They did not have a specific website to focus on these rural locations and give them their own identity to brand them as choice places to live and work for prospect candidates, so CKR created this website for Banner Health to supplement that need."

"We are excited for CKR and Banner Health to win a gold award as we put in a lot of thought, research and time in creating this site and were very pleased with the final outcome as we did drive a lot of traffic to the site from our advertising campaigns and provided Banner Health with a lot of new leads from the site," she explains.

"The extensive debate on healthcare reform, combined with the need for increased efficiency in a challenging economy, has spurred digital media innovation," says Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. "A substantial number of organizations have made major improvements in their websites to better serve current and future customers. Organizations are also embracing social networking, including blogs, Facebook, and Twitter, to reach consumers in new ways and generate concrete business. Mobile communications is also being pursued by a number of market leaders."

Gothberg also notes that improvements in Web sites were largely focused on enhancing visual interest, improving navigation and strongly highlighting key service lines. Use of rich media, such as video, audio and medical animations is now widespread.

CKR Interactive places in several categories at the 2010 Creative Excellence Awards.

CAMPBELL, CA — Winning isn't everything, but it definitely doesn't hurt. We're happy to share that CKR Interactive was honored in three distinct categories at this year's Creative Excellence Awards, two of them being first place awards.

The Creative Excellence Awards is an awards program designed to recognize outstanding achievement in recruitment advertising and marketing. Each year recruitment ad agencies and corporate recruiting departments from around the world enter their best creative advertising campaigns to be judged by marketing and human resource professionals.

CKR Interactive won in these three categories:

Craig Freitag, Vice President of Creative Services, talks about the fantastic Redefining Nursing Campaign, "When developing the creative for this project, CKR Interactive went through it's usual process of working backwards from first attracting the candidate to telling our clients unique selling point. Based on the competitive landscape, we designed a campaign that would stand out from their competitors." He added, "We were very pleased, as was the client, not only on the look of the campaign, but ultimately how effective it has turned out to be.  We feel honored with being recognized by CEAs on our work."

Not only do the CEAs honor visual creativity, but also creativity in analysis. CKR Interactive was awarded first in the best research project category for their Banner Health PT Program Research. Kendra Van Nostran, Account Research Director at CKR Interactive, who had a huge part in creating this project said, "As an agency, we believe that research is often the only way to arrive at a customized solution that addresses all of the factors that influence the client's program. It's absolutely essential to effective communications planning."

With their creativity and passion for recruitment advertising, CKR Interactive has done very well in 2010, but there seems to be a lot more to come from this innovative company. Be sure to look out for more amazing work from CKR Interactive in 2011.

Zombies can be roaming in your office undetected; here are 13 points to look out for

CAMPBELL, CA — Global recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive has compiled a list of 13 key signs to check if your employees are zombies. Studies have shown that this list is 97.3% accurate and if used properly with wit, common sense and CKR Interactive's full line of recruitment solutions, zombie-employees can be avoided.

To run a zombie-free office, here are the 13 signs you should watch out for:

      • When walking by their desk, they have a blank glazed stare into the vast emptiness called a computer screen.
      • When instructing him/her of the day's work all you get are nods and an empty stare.
      • They leave a Tupperware container in the fridge filled with strange grey meat.
      • Towards the end of the week the IT guy smells slightly worse than normal.
      • Try firing them, I promise you they will bite.
      • There are frequent, impromptu Thriller reenactments around the office.
      • They have an odd hatred of plants.
      • They have Christine O'Donnell bumper stickers on their cars. (Oops, that's a witch not a zombie)
      • Everyone is terrified of the new girl, Alice, and her combat boots.
      • When appointed a new assignment, they don't stop moaning and groaning.
      • The only employee that is productive is Shaun from the sales department.
      • Favorite musicians are Rob Zombie, The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and Kurt Cobain.
      • Finally, when a zombie employee associates with a non-zombie employee, symptoms spread and intensify.

CKR Interactive recently implemented this list in their own office. Marketing Coordinator Arthur Jun explained, "I will definitely be fully prepared if there is an upcoming office apocalypse… Mmm, I suddenly have a strange craving for brains, ugh I mean, meatloaf."

Skye Callan, the Interactive Marketing Director at CKR Interactive interrupts, "Arthur has been through a lot of stress in the past week. His views do not reflect those of CKR Interactive and our marketing department and we will be hiring a new Marketing Coordinator immediately."

Mitch Kocen, Account Coordinator at CKR Interactive comments, "It is definitely a good idea for Skye to hire a new Marketing Coordinator, we wouldn't want any zombies in the office. Way to utilize her delicious, delicious, brain…"

CKR Interactive wants to wish you a happy Halloween and remind you that for all your grueling recruitment efforts, we are here to help.

Media Guru Kasey Sixt Talks to Healthcare Recruiters about the Importance of Online Video

CAMPBELL, CA — Global recruitment marketing agency CKR Interactive has found that online video is not just for those who seek instant entertainment, as it has now crossed over to the recruitment realm. In an interview with Lynn Jusinsky from Advance, Kasey Sixt, the newly appointed Vice President of Branding and Social Media Initiatives, talks about the importance of online videos in the healthcare industry.

Kasey Sixt explains that through online video "you're able to capture the emotion and the passion behind a facility's mission, and for recruiting in the healthcare industry, let's face it, everyone who's come into healthcare has a higher calling." Sandy Asch, Principal of Alliance for Organizational Excellence, a San Diego-based consulting company, who was also interviewed backs up Sixt by stating that "it creates that instant emotional connection that somebody wouldn't get if they're reading text on a career website."

Online video can be an asset to a healthcare company's recruitment mix when used correctly. Kasey has some excellent pointers on how to approach creating an online video presence, "a lot of times people are just very intimidated by the process, but if you work with people who have done it and understand it and make it easy for you, it really does help bring your story to life." A recruitment marketing agency like CKR Interactive or a consulting firm with video knowledge and understanding of human resources and recruiting can be extremely beneficial in a company's recruitment efforts.

The use of video and social media in general as part of the recruitment marketing mix is on the rise for employers. According to Jobvite's 2010 Social Recruitment Survey conducted between May and June 2010, 46% of respondents plan to spend more on social recruiting in 2010 than 2009, and 83% of all respondents are now using or planning to use social media for recruiting in 2010 and beyond. Furthermore, according to Healthcare on Social Media News and ebennett.org, there was a 142% increase in the number of hospitals with YouTube channels between the end of 2009 and June 2010 – and the number is continuing to grow.

Sixt shares, "It's about telling your own story effectively, it's just identifying your advocates, identifying people who can really tell your story. The video should not include overly scripted individuals or people sitting down. People should be spontaneous and energetic; you want people to want to work for the company." Sixt adds, "You don't just stop with one corporate video. You're a growing company, ever-changing, and it's about keeping that content fresh."

Recruitment Marketing and Advertising September Events

CAMPBELL, CA — It's clear that social media is here to stay. Most employers agree that participation and monitoring the social media realm is essential to develop a voice and trust with potential candidates. However, many recruiters are stuck with trying to navigate this realm on their own, with no clear direction on how to overcome obstacles or how to utilize social recruiting solutions without letting it overwhelm their workload. Kasey Sixt, Vice President of Branding and Social Media Initiatives at the global recruitment marketing agency, CKR Interactive, will be presenting at this year's Onrec.com Expo to shed some light on the matter.

Sixt's session will provide recruiters with valuable information on how to get started with social recruiting, including how to work with executive management to get their buy in and remove obstacles such as blocked social networking sites, and will break down the common misconceptions in the social recruiting arena. Co-presenter Genentech will share their experience in launching their social recruiting and branding efforts, and how they worked with CKR Interactive to build a successful social media marketing program.

"The world of social media can be pretty overwhelming for a recruiter, with the ever-changing landscape of tools and best practices," shared Sixt. "My goal is to show how social recruiting can be fun, and what social media solutions are available to make a recruiter's life easier. Creating content and managing your online presence does not have to be as difficult as it seems!"

Sixt's presentation will be an excellent follow-up for those who have had the opportunity to attend one of her sessions before. She recently presented well-received knowledge sessions, including "The Power of Online Video and the Social Web" at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) conference and "Video & the Social Web: A Powerful, Eco-Friendly and Cost-Effective Duo for Recruitment Communications & Employer Branding" at the Staffing Management Conference & Exposition hosted by Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

The Onrec event, which will be held September 14-16 in Chicago, will provide information and learning which sourcers, recruiters and HR practitioners can implement immediately – as well as support their organization's long-term staffing efforts. The conference sessions will offer expert insight into best practices, current trends, market influences, metrics, statistics and today's talent pool.

Those attending the event can stop by booth 413 to speak with Kasey Sixt, as well as CKR Interactive's Northeast Regional Manager, Steven Haworth, and Account Manager and international recruitment specialist, Michelle Ferreira.

CKR Interactive will also be exhibiting at upcoming industry events: The Pacific West HR Conference hosted by PIHRA (September 21-23 in Pasadena, CA, booth 519) and the ASHHRA Annual Conference and Exposition (September 25-28 in Tampa, FL, booth 803).

Our inclusion on the Inc. 5000 list is a testament to our continued efforts to provide cutting-edge solutions that enable our clients to optimize their recruitment marketing and employer branding efforts."

The Inc. 5000 site details CKR Interactive's 28 percent growth over the past three years with revenue of $12.4 million in 2009, showing the agency's success in the recruitment advertising and marketing industry. The agency currently has eight offices throughout the United States and provides clients with integrated, global solutions via the OneAgent joint venture.

Recruitment Marketing Agency Presents on Social Recruiting Best Practices

CAMPBELL, CA — Social media – two little words generating a whole lot of buzz. Most recruiters agree that social media is "the wave of the future" but just aren't sure where, or how to begin. Melyssa Bernstein, emerging media specialist and account executive at the global recruitment marketing agency, CKR Interactive, will be presenting at this year's NAHCR Image Conference to shed some light on the matter.

Bernstein's session, "Effective Recruiting with Social Media in 15 Minutes a Day", will walk healthcare employers through how to overcome the four key obstacles that keep healthcare recruiters from tapping into social media: access, time, where to start and what to do. Participants will see firsthand that a view of social media as being time consuming and difficult to use is really just a misconception.

"Whether you've embraced it or not, social media isn't going anywhere," Bernstein explains. "The recruitment model is changing to an interactive mode, and companies should become proactive online to engage their potential candidates."

After the session, attendees will know how to effectively work with their IT departments to ensure that recruiters have the access to social networking sites and technologies – both free and low cost – to streamline their efforts, get up and running with social recruiting quickly and efficiently, and maintain their online social media presence while leveraging the most effective guidelines and tips for social recruiting.

Bernstein adds, "My goal for this session is to help recruiters remove any fears, frustrations and misconceptions regarding social media. I'll help them learn how to develop a social media strategy with set goals whether the objective is to increase candidate flow, build a talent pool, increase brand awareness or all of the above, and then dive in knowing they're headed in the right direction."

The NAHCR Image conference will be held July 6-10 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bernstein's session will be presented on Friday, July 9 from 11am-noon PST. CKR Interactive will be exhibiting at the event, booth #305 (attended by healthcare recruitment experts Amiksha Patel, Director of Healthcare, and Kristin Oravec, Account Manager), for those wishing to learn more about the agency's recruitment marketing services and solutions.

CKR Interactive Presents at Kennedy/Onrec Online Recruitment Conference & Expo 2009

CAMPBELL, CA — Melyssa Bernstein, Emerging Media Specialist for global recruitment advertisement agency CKR Interactive, will be a panel moderator at the Kennedy/Onrec Online Recruitment Conference & Expo 2009, to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, in Chicago on November 2-4, 2009.

The panel is entitled, "Corporate Career Sites: What Separates the Best from the Rest?" The focus will be on which career sites can be deemed truly innovative now that the lexicon of Web 2.0 technology, including widgets, dashboards, social media channels, SEO, and blogs, have become commonplace in corporate recruitment vernacular. The panelists will discuss companies that have gone beyond the typical corporate site accoutrements to craft a message that resonates with candidates.

"A career site is critical in today's market and really has become the hub of any recruitment program," Bernstein said. "The career site allows a company to convey who they are and how they work. Deciding on a new career is a huge decision, and an in-depth site with relevant content and tools to communicate with recruiters can really help guide the process."

When asked to single out examples of superlative career hubs, Bernstein highlighted Target, Yahoo!, and Best Buy.

"Best Buy's diversity site is a good example; even the URL engages people with a question: CanYouBeYou.com," Bernstein said. "It contains a blog, so content is fresh and updated regularly. Yahoo! takes engagement to a whole new level by inviting visitors into their Sandbox' to check out new products and provide feedback. The cutting-edge content gives candidates an idea of ongoing projects and a true sense of the culture."

Bernstein has an extensive background in hospitality management and advertising. She is also a former employee of a search engine optimization firm and holds a degree in advertising and PR. Currently she oversees a number of clients and assists the agency with social media initiatives.

Support Our EVP Ronni Rogers & the chRONNIcle COURAGE Team's Efforts to End Breast Cancer

CAMPBELL, CA — The chRONNIcle Courage team, which will walk in support of breast cancer patient Ronni Rogers at the 14th Annual Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Race for the Cure®, has surpassed its initial fundraising goal in 48 hours using a range of social media platforms and tactics. The early success places the team among the top fundraising groups in the South Florida walk and has motivated them to more than double their original goal of $2,500 to $5,500.

Captain Georgia Dardick and her teammates used a variety of social media channels to let people know about chRONNIcle Courage and to drive supporters to the online donation page. Among the components, a Facebook group helped the team get the word out to friends, family and professional contacts, as well as provide status updates. All team members are also currently using the chRONNIcle Courage logo for their Facebook profile pictures. In addition, Rogers' 16-year old son started his own Facebook group for the cause, attracting 100 members in just three hours.

LinkedIn emails to professional contacts - some established more than 25 years ago - also generated donations, and additional social media efforts by Dardick connected her with people from the early days of her career at JWT Advertising (formerly known as J. Walter Thompson). It was at JWT that Dardick first met Rogers and began what would become a decades-long friendship. The two reunited professionally in 2003 to launch the East Coast operations for CKR Interactive, where Rogers is currently Executive Vice President.

Rounding out the social media effort, team members also tweeted about the event to their Twitter followers and sent text messages to contacts via their mobile devices.

"We were amazed that we were able to meet our fundraising goal so quickly," notes Dardick. "But even more amazing has been seeing the people who love Ronni unite in her support. It's truly a testament to the many lives she has touched over the years."

CKR Interactive Develops Award-Winning Rural Recruitment Marketing Campaign

CAMPBELL, CA — CKR Interactive has developed a recruitment marketing plan for healthcare leader Banner Health that has not only brought in experienced candidates, but multiple awards as well. Specifically, the agency developed a multimedia campaign to help the Phoenix, Arizona-based healthcare system recruit top talent for its rural facilities. This campaign is tailored to promote the benefits of small town living, a local workplace and Banner Health's excellent employer brand, and address the hardships of healthcare recruiting in rural areas.

To create and launch the campaign, CKR Interactive did thorough research that included migration trends and demographics for all the various hard-to-fill positions at Banner Health, and crafted an entire media campaign that focused on drawing people to consider moving to a small town. CKR Interactive created a website specifically for this campaign, as well as a variety of print and rotating banner ads that focused on key selling factors of living in a small town. CKR Interactive then tracked the success of these ads using its media tracking product, Recruitment Media Metrics™, and found that the ads have brought in a large increase of site traffic.

These ads have received numerous awards, including HealthLeaders Media and Aster awards, and have also been found by the Ad-Q Studies division of Harvey Research, Inc. to be the best performing ads when competing against other recruitment-based ads in publications.

"We're very pleased with the performance of the "Small Town Living" campaign to date," explained Amiksha Patel, Director of Healthcare at CKR Interactive. "We'll continue to track the number of applications received and hired made from this campaign, in order to provide Banner Health with an analysis of the ROI and recommendations for future campaigns."

CKR Interactive is Chosen as the New Recruitment Advertising Agency for several Adventist Hospitals

CAMPBELL, CA — CKR Interactive has been selected by several Adventist hospitals in Northern California to be the group's new recruitment advertising agency. The group of hospitals, all affiliates of Adventist Health, is comprised of St. Helena Hospital, St. Helena Hospital Clearlake, Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital, and Ukiah Valley Medical Center. CKR Interactive was selected in a recent competitive review of several ad agencies. The agency was chosen to partner with the hospitals on all of their employment communications efforts, including employer branding, online and print advertising, direct mail, and internal communications such as a new employee referral program. "It was evident that they did their homework on us and our competition and understand our recruitment needs. We look forward to a long partnership with CKR Interactive as they help us attract top talent to our hospitals in the area."

Ad--Q Awards CKR Interactive's Creative with Highest Ad Performance Score

CAMPBELL, CA — The Ad--Q Studies division of Harvey Research, Inc. announced in its Readership Study of the September 2008 issue of NURSEWEEK that an advertisement designed by CKR Interactive (www.ckrinteractive.com) had the best performance of all the ads placed in the issue. CKR Interactive designed the ad for its Phoenix, Arizona-based client, Banner Health, one of the largest nonprofit healthcare systems in the country. The ad was part of a multimedia recruitment marketing campaign launched and managed by CKR Interactive, which aimed to promote an open house event to recruit experienced nurses.

Ad--Q Studies conducted a Readership Study to find what portion of NURSEWEEK readers recalled seeing and reading each of the advertisements included in the September 2008 issue, and what portion of readers actively seeking employment recalled seeing and reading each of the ads. Banner Health's ad received the highest performance score, despite larger competing ads running more frequently. In fact, the advertisement received 33 more points than the ad with the second highest performance score.
