That’s a Wrap! Thoughts on the 2017 NAHCR IMAGE Conference

By on July 21, 2017

I just returned from the NAHCR IMAGE Conference in beautiful (and hot) Savannah, Ga.

CKR is a proud member of NAHCR and takes part in the IMAGE conference each year. This year we were lucky enough to be invited as speakers. CKR is asked to speak at many conferences and events and, as a recruitment marketing organization, you can imagine the topics we often focus on: employer branding, how to reach the best candidates, using social media as a recruiting tool, innovations in our industry, etc.

However, for the NAHCR IMAGE conference, we wanted to do something different — and special — so we focused on personal branding. Why did we choose personal branding? Because we partner with so many healthcare recruiters, we know they do an amazing job of making other people look good: their hiring managers, leadership, nursing teams, even candidates. That being said, they don’t do nearly enough to celebrate their own hard work, passion and accomplishments. Our session, entitled: Zero to Sensational: How to Make Your Personal Brand Work for You was a hands-on, interactive session that was filled with enthusiasm and audience participation.

What really made the presentation come to life were my two wonderful co-presenters: Tammie Kelly from Johns Hopkins Health System in Maryland and Avis Eden from SSM Health in St. Louis. Tammie and Avis brought their expertise as healthcare recruiters as well as their energy and insight to show attendees how they could define, build and shape their personal brand.

Attendees also received a personal branding inventory as well as a personal branding checklist so they could get started right away.

P.S. Savannah, is a fun, funky, eclectic town — I definitely recommend visiting and seeing the history, eating great food and experiencing the culture!
